The festival born in Tongyeong — a city of the sea and the arts — takes its first step this year as the Tongyeong International Film Festival (TIFF).
Over three editions, Tongyeong Film Festival introduced fresh voices in short film with a small but distinct vision, and created a place where citizens and cinema stay close. On that foundation, Tongyeong now steps toward becoming a city that meets the cinema of the world.
From this year, we invite features and shorts from Asia to meet our audiences. With the Korean Short Competition at its heart, and through the Gyeongnam, international and Korean invited sections, we will present the diverse currents of contemporary Asian cinema in one place. Like the blue waters of Hallyeo, may stories flow through Tongyeong without borders.
All screenings at TIFF are free. We invite you to a festival where anyone can stay close to cinema — the first stage where our region and the world come together. Please join us.
